“All human life has its seasons, and no one’s personal chaos can be permanent: winter, after all does not last forever does it? There is summer, too, and spring, and though sometimes when branches stay dark and the earth cracks with ice, one thinks they will never come, that spring, that summer, but they do, and always."

T.Capote

Crime Victums Oak Garden

The Crime Victims Oak Garden is a favorite venue for our Survivor Families in close collaboration with the Cara Knott Foundation who was instrumental in obtaining the site for Crime Victim Families. There are many trees planted here in memory of victims and is a source of respite for visitors. Various meetings are held here and the Survivors of Violent loss Program has participated in landscape activities as well as picnics at the site. The San Felipe Humanitarian Alliance donated a gazebo for the children of a member of their organization who was a murder victim. The gazebo is now a gathering place especially for SVLP's annual picnic the First Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Directions: Interstate 15; Exit Scripps Poway Parkway and go east; Make a u-turn at Scripps Highland Drive; First right into garden entrance at Cara Way.
