David B
Age 31
Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998
I am writing this as a letter to the unknown as yet, perpetrators
of my son David's murder. Do you have children? Do you love your
children? Do you have a mother? For whatever reason you had to hate
my son enough to take his life, did you ever take into account the
fact that you were probably at that same moment taking your own
life? That you were taking many lives? Because when you pointed
that gun at David and fired, you in effect took away my own life,
your own family's life, your mother, your children. You took what
we all hold dearest, a life that someone loved very much. The trauma
you've caused within your own family is great I'm sure, but the
trauma you've brought to mine will last forever. You are still living
and so those who love you can still have hopes and dreams and prayers
for your future, their future. But what have you done to my family's
future hopes and dreams? You crushed them, snuffed them out. As
the bullets crushed through David's body, snuffing his life out,
you took from me my only child. David's life made mine worth living.
My hopes and dreams and prayers for his future, my future were taken
away in one second because you felt his life worth taking for your
own personal reasons, you are so selfish to not have looked beyond
that.Did you think that you were justified to take David's life,
and that you were so smart you'd never have to be accountable for
that act? Well, there is a possibility that you may not be caught
in my lifetime, but smart people know that there are more laws than
just the laws of the land. They are called Universal Laws and there
is no getting around them, no way to change them, and no way to
ignore your own part in misusing them. At some point, you'll be
held accountable and justice will be served. The gift of life is
a gift of the highest order; something one should not only value,
but also sustain and add to. It is not given to be destroyed. You
have broken one of the highest laws of life, not just of man, but
of life, and the only thing you can hope for yourself now is that
the maker of those laws will have mercy on your soul. The true punishment
for you will not come from myself or from a courtroom with a jury
and judge. It will come silently and privately between you and your
creator, the same creator that gave David life. In one second you
altered many lives that weren't yours to alter, and you destroyed
David's gift of life, devastating mine in the process. At some point
you will be made to answer for these acts.
