"The many tapestries of order that permeate one's daily life become apparent only when one loses them, or oneself in them."

R. Neimeyer, Constructing Disorder

I Wish Angelina Could Have Known Her Daddy

Larry Amador

It is still very hard for Ana Murillo to talk about what happened in October 2000, when Larry Amador was stabbed to death by his brother-in-law. With her 2 year old daughter, Angelina, in her arms and with Wendy Rose at her side for support, Ana recounted through her tears how the murderer laughed about killing Larry.

Ana and Larry had been happily planning for Angelina’s birth. Like any pair of expectant parents, they had many hopes and dreams for their first child’s future and for themselves. Larry worked as a plumber while Ana was pursuing a degree in criminal justice. But in one horrible moment, all their dreams of a long life together were destroyed

"If I could only have three wishes, this is what they would be," she told the listeners at the Vigil. "I wish Adrien had gotten life in prison instead of the seven year sentence he did receive. I would have loved for Angelina to have the chance to know her daddy. And I wish I could have had the chance to say good-bye."
